My name is Mrs. Benitez, I am a dedicated educator with experience tutoring students in reading comprehension and writing in Hillsborough County. My approach goes beyond academics—I draw on my background in social work to support the whole child, recognizing that emotional well-being and confidence are just as important to learning as mastering content. Through patience, empathy, and active listening, I strive to create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and developing their strengths.
My social work training has equipped me with valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and building positive relationships, which I apply daily in my tutoring sessions. I understand that every student learns differently, and I am committed to meeting them where they are, whether that means breaking down difficult concepts, encouraging self-expression through writing, or providing strategies to improve focus and organization.
I also believe strongly in collaboration with families, as parents and guardians play a vital role in a child’s academic success. I work to maintain open communication with families, providing feedback, sharing progress, and offering strategies that can be reinforced at home. This partnership ensures that students receive consistent support both inside and outside of tutoring sessions.
I work in the areas of Plant City, Brandon, Dover, Riverview and Lithia.
