Hello, my name is Tina, and as a tutor I bring a deeply personal and compassionate approach to teaching, shaped by both my degree in psychology and my 25 years as a stay-at-home mom. Raising six children—each with unique strengths, challenges, and learning styles, including various disabilities—has given me invaluable, real-world experience in adapting to individual needs. I understand that no two learners are alike, and I approach each student with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help them succeed.ssh.
My teaching philosophy centers on connection before correction. Students learn best when they feel safe, understood, and supported. By building trust first, I can better guide them through challenges and celebrate their progress. Drawing on my background in psychology, I tailor my methods to fit each child’s cognitive and emotional needs, breaking concepts into manageable steps and using encouragement to build confidence along the way.
Beyond my role as a parent, I have been actively involved in my community through volunteer work, including serving in a school media center and taking part in advocacy and community service efforts. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills and deepened my commitment to supporting children and families. I value collaboration and believe that working together creates the best outcomes for every student.
I bring warmth, dedication, and a nurturing spirit to everything I do. My goal is not just to help students improve academically, but to empower them to believe in themselves and develop a lifelong love of learning.
